Let the stress manifestations begin.
Well, last week I flooded the basement. Today Atrobus and I went for a wonderful 14 mile bike ride from Lake Harriet to Minnehaha falls and back. It was a beautiful day! Only yucky thing...I managed to have my first "big girl" bike accident. It was bound to happen at some point, I'm surprised I have never gotten hurt before today.
We were approaching The little restaurant at Minnehaha, 178 crossed the road, the traffice was a bit busy. The car had stopped for him and I was about 10 feet behind, as I rounded the corner to cross the road too the car hit the gas. I slammed on my breaks and popped off my bike. Some how my front tire came off the ground and slammed down onto my left shin with a nice bit of force. It scraped down my leg. I got off the bike and waved the stupid lady driving to go. I looked down at my shin and noticed the grossest thing ever....The force of the impact had pushed tissue down my leg into a nice bouncy ball sized lump under the skin. YUCK! No blood, but this bump was large. I pushed on it and it kinda squished around.
Nothing broken. But the area is already starting to turn some lovely shades of purple. The Hubby was kind and brought me some ice from the park building. We sat for a few minutes and decided to turn around and go back. It stings a bit, but not bad.
I think the fact that my body structure could change like that was the most unsettling part of the whole thing.
This pic doesn't really do it justice but at least it gives some size....:-)
